On 20 November, Prof. José Alvarez will host Prof. Gian Luca Burci at NYU Law for a public conversation. Their conversation will cover issues of global health law, international health crises, and the World Health Organization (WHO).

Prof. Burci is a leading expert on global health governance and the WHO. Among other professional achievements, he was closely involved in the negotiation of the Framework Convention on Tobacco Control and its Protocol to Eliminate Illicit Trade in Tobacco Products, the revision of the International Health Regulations, the WHO’s response to the 2014-2016 Ebola outbreak, and WHO reform. His areas of expertise are public international law and the law of international organizations as well as global health governance and law.
