NYU law students Virginie Blanchette-Seguin, Jenya Grigoreva, Nahuel Maisley, Johann Justus Vasel, and Nathan Yaffe traveled to Washington, D.C. with IILJ director Benedict Kingsbury for a meeting of the Salzburg Cutler Fellows 2017. This group of 55 of the nation’s top law students had the opportunity to meet with leading academics, judges, and practitioners in the fields of private and public international law. The two-day program examined the critical issues shaping today’s international law agenda and is designed to create a network of men and women interested in careers in international practice and public service.
On Friday group sessions considered each student paper, discussing and making suggestions to improve it. Short talks, panels, and networking opportunities were interspersed, featuring some of the most outstanding lawyers in the world. A dinner for fellows and faculty was held Friday evening. The Saturday was devoted to “looking beyond Law School”.
